Pycnogenol is an extract from the bark of the French maritime pine. The extract contains a rich blend of natural fruit acids and powerful antioxidants called proanthocyanidins (previously known as pycnogenols).Research suggests that antioxidants in Pycnogenol are 50x more powerful than Vitamin E, 20x more powerful than vitamin C and 16x more active than grapeseed extract. Further, Pycnogenol enhances the effects of other antioxidants such as Co Q10, Vitamin C and Vitamin E.
Antioxidants help to mop up harmful free radicals that trigger oxidation reactions that cause damage at a cellular level.
